Acrylic

Acrylic filter bags are best suited for high-temperature situations, as they can operate at up to 265°F (130°C). That said, they have slightly less chemical compatibility and aren’t as resistant to abrasion.

Aramid Felt

Aramid, also known as aromatic polyamide or Kevlar® (its brand name), makes for very abrasion-resistant filter bags. Filter bags can function at consistent temperatures as high as 400°F (204°C).

Fiberglass

Fiberglass shines at high temperatures and can operate at a whopping 500°F (260°C). The downside, however, is that fiberglass bags are not very durable or resistant to abrasion.

Polypropylene

Polypropylene filter bags are very resistant to chemicals and moisture, making them a great choice when dealing with corrosive or wet dust particles. They’re also very durable and are popular in pharmaceuticals, chemical processing, and food and beverage. 

Polypropylene’s inherent strength and durability ensure longevity, even in harsh operating conditions. Its hydrophobic nature repels moisture, which can help prevent premature clogging. Polypropylene’s thermal stability enables it to withstand high temperatures without compromising its structural integrity.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)

PTFE, also known by its brand name Teflon, is a synthetic polymer that offers superior chemical resistance and low friction properties. 

Some PTFE filter bags can offer an efficiency as high as 99.999%. PTFE filter bags feature microscopic holes on the membrane that allow air to pass through. They also have a low coefficient of friction, which reduces how often they need to be cleaned and increases their longevity. 

PTFE filter bags are ideal for applications involving sticky or adhesive dust particles. They are commonly used in food processing, pharmaceuticals, and electronics manufacturing industries.

Envelope bag filters feature a compact design with a flat profile, making them ideal for applications with limited installation space. They offer efficient dust removal and ease of maintenance.
